yea. i’m almost complete with the blancodisco.com website. months in the making. i had a landmark day today by finally finishing up the whole Portfolio section. with any luck, i may be able to do a soft launch tomorrow. need to flush out a few more sections/areas and add some sound and eventually shoot some more clips for blancovision….

i’m psyched.

i just hope it will help secure me a good new job soon. i would like to have some dough again.
once i’m fully launched, i had set a personal restriction on myself for months about not loggin on into chat apps.

i will soon return to the real world… and be social again. and even more so when that new job comes in too.

as an aside: i’ll be dj’ing this friday with “MOVING” partner, mark flynn, for another edition of cathode ray tunes over at remote lounge.

been a few days since i posted anything… i came across this site, detroit underground and it’s a pretty cool designy site with some music on there.

Downloaded the new Ableton 3 Public Beta to check out out.. haven’t installed yet, cause, i’m suppose to be working on my online portfolio now…

dj’d again at Remote Lounge with buddy Mark Flynn friday night. Had one of my better sets in a long time, last one being my set for Vinylholic in august at B3, but, that was a slow turnout nite… but last night i had mad mad fun playing some funky breakbeats, to a lil electro, sorta got a lil rockish and then transitioned over to some classic and not so classic industrial dance… not one complaint from the musically inept crowd that caters more towards getting digits than what’s going on around them sonically. i’ll try to get Mark to get me the set list off of final scratch to post on here. damn, i wish i recorded it. I haven’t recorded any new sets while dj’ing out this year (aside from the last few radio QE2 shows)… kinda sad. perhaps i should make a return in 2004. can we make the iPods record anytime soon?

Anyway, after the gig, Redboy and I headed up into my hood and i introduced him to the local after hours hot spot. Again, it was mad chill and good vibe going on in the MarkCafe. I think I need to get a chill night goin’ there. I bailed around 6 am and took a few photos outside on 3rd Avenue…. the lighting was just really cool and New York was so serene.

So yea, it’s friday night in nyc on Labor Day Weekend, and i’m sitting here at home in front of my computer. I went out to dinner with my girlfriend, sheri, earlier and we came back to the crib here before planning to head out to hear redboy play at void. but, she got settled in taking a nap, and i’m quite comfortable working on my website. I’m not thinking i’m makin’ it out to void at this point. maybe i’ll venutre down the street to this afterhours joint i found last week, a block and a half away from where i live. unheard of in this hood, a venue playing some cool house/techno/progressive dance music. i feel like i should go support that too.

on top of that, some friends of mine (sassan & messica aka jessica) are coming down for a wedding from boston this weekend out on long island that i’m also going too. they were gettin into town tonite, but i haven’t heard from them yet either, i reckon they’re beat from the drive down and are kickin’ it at their crash space on the upper west side.

Tomorrow, it’s PS1 final warmup with Afrika Bambatta and a dude from DFA (electroclash stuff). Papa & Mama Massif (gabe & charisse) are bringin’ lil Fallon out for da fun outside. should be cool.

i’m so awake after going to bed at 6 am this morning and waking up at noon.

man. unemployed in nyc.
it can be kinda cool.
but, havin’ flow is cooler.

i know i am. after hearing some of the headlines from last week. Bush back peddling on the clean air act, redistricting in texas and of course the ongoing b.s. in Iraq… made me want to leave this sick state of the union we are living in. The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer right now.

well, i found some comfort by reading a few things from the other, not the other side of the atlantic, just some alternative news/opinion outlets.

on a more positive note, but still sorta sad, i DO have to go overseas to listen to good radio (aside from evening programming on WZBC) bbc/radio1 has a killer WEBSITE with tracklistings and tons of shows archived. i particularly like the Blue Room show. on da chillage tip.
